Description
Dahua TPC-BF1241-S8 — Thermal & Visible Hybrid Bullet Camera
The Dahua TPC-BF1241-S8 is a dual-sensor network bullet camera from the Eureka TPC-1 series, pairing an uncooled 256 × 192 thermal core with a 4 MP visible channel in a single IP67 housing. Thermal imaging detects heat signatures in total darkness, through glare, smoke and light fog — conditions where a conventional camera sees nothing — while the visible channel supplies the detail needed for identification and evidentiary review. Both streams run simultaneously, so a single cable drop delivers 24/7 perimeter detection and a usable visual record.
Built-in perimeter analytics run on the thermal channel, where cold background and warm targets produce far cleaner separation than visible-light motion detection. Tripwire and intrusion rules are filtered by human and vehicle classification, cutting the nuisance alarms that plague outdoor sites. Heat detection and alarm, plus cold and hot spot tracing, extend the camera beyond security into early fire detection and equipment monitoring.
Key Features
- Dual thermal + visible channels — 256 × 192 VOx uncooled detector alongside a 1/2.7" 4 MP CMOS sensor
- NETD < 40 mK thermal sensitivity (@ f/1.0, 25 Hz, 300 K) for clear contrast on low-differential targets
- Human & vehicle classification on tripwire and intrusion rules to suppress false alarms from animals, foliage and weather
- Heat detection & alarm plus cold and hot spot tracing for early fire and thermal-anomaly warning
- Smoking and call detection for policy enforcement in restricted or hazardous areas
- Built-in white light and audio alarm for on-device deterrence without a separate speaker or strobe
- Image fusion — 3 blending modes and 18 colour palettes, combining thermal and visible detail in one view
- 30 m IR illumination with ICR day/night switching on the visible channel
- IP67 rated, rated for operation from −30 °C to +60 °C
- 12 VDC or PoE with 2 alarm inputs, 2 alarm outputs, audio in/out, RS-485 and microSD edge storage to 256 GB
Detection Range by Lens
Perimeter analytics (IVS) range — the distance at which the camera reliably triggers classified rules:
| Thermal Lens | Field of View | Human | Vehicle |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3.5 mm | 50.6° × 37.8° | 24.5 m (80 ft) | 73.5 m (241 ft) |
| 7 mm | 24° × 18° | 49 m (161 ft) | 146.5 m (481 ft) |
| 10 mm | 17.3° × 13.1° | 70 m (230 ft) | 209 m (686 ft) |
Raw thermal detection distances (DRI) are considerably longer — up to 292 m on a human and 894 m on a vehicle with the 7 mm lens — but analytics performance is the figure that matters when specifying a perimeter. Ranges are theoretical and vary with atmospheric conditions, target size and mounting position.
